Mechanical Site Engineer

Job Summary :

The Mechanical Site Engineer is responsible for the execution, supervision, and installation of mechanical systems including HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection on-site. This role ensures that work is carried out according to approved drawings, specifications, and project schedules while maintaining quality, safety, and cost control. The Mechanical Site Engineer coordinates with various stakeholders and supports the successful delivery of construction projects.

Key Responsibilities

1. Site Execution & Installation

• Supervise installation of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection systems on-site.

• Ensure work is executed as per approved drawings, specifications, and method statements.

• Monitor daily site activities and ensure adherence to project schedules.

• Coordinate manpower, materials, and equipment for smooth execution.

2. Coordination & Site Management

• Coordinate with electrical, civil, and architectural teams on-site.

• Attend site meetings and resolve technical and coordination issues.

• Liaise with subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants.

• Ensure proper implementation of shop drawings and resolve site discrepancies.

3. Quality Control & Compliance

• Ensure all installations comply with project specifications, standards, and local codes.

• Conduct inspections and ensure quality of workmanship.

• Prepare and submit inspection requests (IRs) and follow up for approvals.

• Identify and rectify non-conformances.

4. Testing & Commissioning

• Assist in testing and commissioning of mechanical systems.

• Ensure systems are functioning as per design requirements.

• Coordinate with commissioning teams and consultants for approvals.

5. Documentation & Reporting

• Maintain daily site reports, progress reports, and work logs.

• Track material usage and site progress against schedule.

• Prepare as-built drawings in coordination with the design team.

• Support project documentation including RFIs, method statements, and reports.

* Maintain up to date issues log.

6. Health, Safety & Environment (HSE)

• Ensure compliance with site safety regulations and HSE standards.

• Monitor safe work practices and conduct toolbox talks when required.

• Identify potential safety risks and implement corrective actions.


Qualifications, skills and requirements 

• 5 years of experience in MEP construction or site execution.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering.

• Strong knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, and fire protection system installation.

• Familiarity with construction drawings, specifications, and site practices.

• Experience in testing and commissioning is a plus.
