Electrical Engineer / BMS & SCADA Specialist

Job Summary 

We are seeking an experienced Electrical / BMS & SCADA Engineer to support the design, coordination, and integration of electrical and automation systems for industrial and port infrastructure projects. The role includes managing BMS and SCADA systems, MV/LV electrical distribution, substations, control panels, power management systems, lighting, pumping stations, and utility monitoring systems while ensuring seamless integration with HVAC, security, IT, and operational platforms. The candidate will review technical drawings, calculations, control architectures, communication protocols, and panel designs, coordinate with consultants, contractors, vendors, and system integrators, and provide technical support during installation, testing, commissioning, FAT/SAT, and project handover activities.


Key Responsibilities

     BMS and SCADA Systems

    Design and coordination of Building Management Systems and SCADA systems.

    Integration of electrical systems, utilities, HVAC, pumping systems, substations, and other port-related services into centralized monitoring and control platforms.

    Review of control architecture, communication protocols, I/O lists, system topology, and integration requirements.

    Coordination with automation vendors, system integrators, and specialist subcontractors.

    Electrical Design

    Preparation and review of electrical design drawings, calculations, and technical documents.

    Design coordination for MV/LV systems, substations, transformers, switchgear, MDBs, SMDBs, MCCs, lighting, power distribution, earthing, lightning protection, and cable containment systems.

    Review of load calculations, cable sizing, voltage drop, short-circuit calculations, protection coordination, and selectivity studies.

    Coordination with other disciplines, including mechanical, civil, infrastructure, IT, security, and marine/port operation teams.

    Electrical Panels and Control Panels

    Review and coordination of LV panels, MCC panels, automation panels, PLC panels, control panels, and marshalling panels.

    Review of panel schematics, single line diagrams, control wiring diagrams, panel layouts, protection devices, metering, and communication interfaces.

    Coordination with panel manufacturers for technical compliance, testing, factory acceptance tests, and delivery requirements.

    Port and Industrial Systems

    Experience with systems commonly required in port projects, such as:

    Reefer container power supply systems.

    Yard lighting and high mast lighting.

    Substations and container terminal electrical infrastructure.

    Pumping stations and utility monitoring.

    Fire alarm, access control, CCTV, and security system interfaces.

    Energy monitoring and power management systems.

    Integration with terminal operation or facility management platforms, where applicable.

    Technical Coordination and Site Support

    Review of material submittals, method statements, shop drawings, and technical proposals.

    Coordination with consultants, contractors, vendors, and project management teams.

    Support site installation teams during execution.

    Attend technical meetings and resolve design/interface issues.

    Participate in testing, commissioning, FAT/SAT, and handover activities.

    Qualifications, skills and requirements 

    Strong experience in BMS, SCADA, PLC-based control systems, and electrical design.

    Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering.

    Previous experience in ports, terminals, logistics facilities, industrial plants, airports, infrastructure, or similar complex projects.

    Good knowledge of MV/LV distribution systems, MCCs, control panels, automation systems, and communication networks.

    Familiarity with standards and practices related to electrical installations, industrial control, and infrastructure projects.

    Ability to read and review single line diagrams, control schematics, cable schedules, I/O lists, panel drawings, and system architecture diagrams.

    Experience coordinating with system integrators, panel builders, electrical contractors, and specialist vendors.

    Knowledge of testing and commissioning procedures for electrical, automation, BMS, and SCADA systems.

    Good communication and coordination skills.

    Ability to work under pressure and support fast-track project requirements.
